Budg AI Terms of Use
1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to
Budg AI (listed on the App Store as "Budg AI - Financial Advisor") is made and operated by MobiStack ("MobiStack", "we", "us"). You can reach us at contact@mobistack.co.
These Terms of Use are the licence agreement (end user licence agreement) between you and MobiStack for the Budg AI app and the services behind it. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. The service
Budg AI is a personal finance app. With it you can:
- record income, expenses and transfers, and keep accounts and balances in one or more currencies;
- build a budget from a short questionnaire and adjust it over time;
- set savings goals and schedule planned payments with reminders;
- import bank statements you already have as CSV, Excel or PDF files;
- see charts, monthly comparisons and a calendar of your money;
- ask Budg, the built-in AI assistant, about your money in writing or by voice, and let it record transactions for you.
The app does not connect to your bank and never asks for bank login details. You enter transactions yourself, add them through the assistant, or import statement files.
We may add, change or remove features over time. Some features need a Premium subscription (section 8).
3. Not financial advice
Budg gives general financial information based on the data in your account. It is not licensed financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and MobiStack is not a bank, broker, financial adviser or accountant. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and nothing is a guarantee of any result, saving or outcome. You are responsible for your own financial decisions. For advice about your situation, talk to a qualified professional.
4. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Budg AI.
- You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password. Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- One account per person. Do not share your account or use someone else's.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful, or to store content you have no right to store;
- try to access other people's data, or our systems, without permission;
- copy, resell, rent, reverse engineer or scrape the app or its content, except where the law lets you;
- overload or interfere with the service, send automated traffic, or work around usage limits;
- upload files that contain malware, or use the assistant to produce content that is unlawful, harmful or abusive.
6. Your content
Your content is what you put into the app: transactions, accounts, budgets, goals, planned payments, notes, imported statements, chat messages, voice conversations and your profile photo. It stays yours.
So that we can run the service for you, you give MobiStack a licence to store, process, back up, sync and display your content, including sending it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy, only as needed to provide, secure and improve the service. This licence ends when your content is deleted, apart from backup copies, which are purged within 30 days.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, for example a statement for an account that is yours.
7. AI features
- Budg's answers, budget drafts, insights and categorisations are generated by AI models, including models from OpenAI and Google. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check the numbers before you act on them.
- The assistant can add, change or delete transactions and goals when you ask it to. Review what it records; you can edit or remove anything.
- In voice mode your audio is sent to Google's Gemini service to transcribe and answer in real time. Voice notes recorded in chat are transcribed by OpenAI. We do not use your audio, transcripts or messages to train AI models.
- To keep the service reliable, AI features have fair use limits. The limits in force are shown in the app and can differ between the free tier and Premium.
8. Subscriptions: Budg AI Premium
- What it is. Budg AI Premium is an auto-renewable subscription bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. It comes as a monthly plan or a yearly plan.
- Price. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe, in your local currency. The monthly plan is billed monthly and the yearly plan is billed yearly.
- Free trial. Eligible new subscribers get a 7 day free trial. At the end of the trial your store account is charged the subscription price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The store charges your account for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Managing and cancelling. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your device's store subscription settings (on iPhone and iPad: Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android: Google Play, your profile, Payments and subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are taken by Apple or Google, not by us, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the stores.
- Price changes. If the price changes, the store tells you in advance and, where the law requires, asks for your consent before the new price applies.
- Restoring. "Restore Purchases" in the app re-applies an active subscription on a device signed in to the same store account.
9. The free tier
Budg AI is free to use with limits. The free tier limits some features, for example the number of AI chat messages and statement imports, and how many planned payments, goals, categories and accounts you can have. The limits in force are shown in the app and may change. Premium removes or raises these limits, subject to the fair use caps shown in the app.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (More > Advanced > Delete Account) or at https://piggyaibackend.fly.dev/legal/delete-account. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription: cancel it in the store first.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we have to for legal or security reasons, or if we stop providing the service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first.
11. Intellectual property
The app, its design, code, name, logo and the content we provide (not your content) belong to MobiStack or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.
12. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the app, including about accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that it will be error free or uninterrupted. AI output and imported data can contain mistakes. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, MobiStack is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, savings or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or from relying on its output, including financial decisions you make. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service in any 12 month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
14. Apple and Google
If you got the app from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and MobiStack, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is not responsible for any claim about the app, including product liability, consumer protection, legal compliance and intellectual property claims; MobiStack is. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You must also comply with any third party terms that apply when you use the app. If you got the app from Google Play, Google's terms also apply to the purchase.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will publish the new version at this address with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of establishment, and disputes are subject to the courts of that country, except where mandatory consumer protection law in the country where you live gives you other rights or a different forum.
